Chris Arpe Gang knows gardeners are all about sharing. They freely share their excess plants with one another and, just as importantly, their knowledge and experience.
Midsouthgardens.com is all about gardeners coming together and sharing information: about successes and failures; places to find plants and equipment; books that proved useful; organizations that are worthwhile.
As a garden writer and Green Thumb columnist for The Commercial Appeal (Memphis) newspaper for more than 20 year, Chris knows the Midsouth gardening community well. Her web site is designed to be a friendly gathering place for everyone who likes to garden and wants to learn more about it.
She is the recipient of several awards including the Horticultural Excellence Award for 2005 from the Memphis Horticultural Society; a certificate of recognition from the The Garden Club of America and the Memphis Garden Club for "distinguished horitcultural and civic accomplishments in the writing of her newspaper column" and an "Environmental Communication Award" from the Chickasaw Group of the Sierra Club.
Chris lives and gardens in Germantown, Tenn., with her husband, daughter, mother-in-law, dog and cat.
